The latest news article "McCain's blind spot on Vietnam"  is located on the following URL:

I collected some related articles on McCain on the following URL:

http://vietphoenix.com/news/news.htm

It's an issue that I mentioned about the Vietnam is still a main discussion in this election. McCain didn't drum up on Vietnam war experience until now because of set back or backfire like John Kerry in 2004 .

It'll be third straight candidate with Vietnam war experience to lost or to survive in the year of rat. The election them is "change" but it'll be not like what you ask/wish like Hillary Clinton about commander in chief .

There is a blog article about Vietnamese American Politicans in Orange County, California from URL below:

Who will lead the O.C. Vietnamese American voters?http://orangejuiceblog.com/2008/07/who-will-lead-the-oc-vietnamese-american-voters/

The article gave some suggestions about the landscape of the Tran dynasty in the future. The Republican party is still controlled the Vietnamese American voters landscape despite all the fight among Vietnamese politicans. The Democratic party is only showed up on number gain Vietnamese American voters but zero is still a number on Vietnamese politicans in Orange County where the Vietnamese American is about 1/4 of the total population.

FYI,

There is an article about her in The Washington Post newspaper on Sunday, July 6, 2008

"For Doan Nguyen, 26, a photo editor at the nonprofit Conservation International, figuring out her generation has become a mission, prompted partly by a documentary she is filming.", from What Comes Next After Generation X?

Video Clips: 26-year-old Doan Nguyen hosts friends for dinner and interviews them about the 2008 presidential election for a documentary about how those in their early 20s and 30s view politics

The Republican party had a same situation like the Democratic party. It's not over until the candidate tell their supporters. He got a lot of money from fundraising like Obabma. He opposed the Iraq war like Obama but he didn't get a lot of voters like Obama. The only similar with John McCain is his age.

Despite support by Van Tran, Dina Nguyen lost. Other 4 Vietnamese candidates lost their bid too in San Jose city council seat in District 8  & District 2 with the endorsements of Vietnamese political/protest groups in San Jose during June 3 primary in California.

Janet Nguyen endorsed by Republican party hold on to the supervisor seat in Orange county also defeated Democratic candidate Hoa Tran in major Democratic population concentration and deleted any gain from the news about Vietnamese registerred in Democratic party who did not show  up in the poll or on the result.

In San Jose, Vietnamese candidates blames the loss on too many Vietnamese candidates on the same seats which is divided the Vietnamese voters. This reason is worked in favor of Janet Nguyen in Orange County. One of the reason in The San Jose Mercury News is the protest on the name of Vietnamese Business District in San Jose.

There Vietnames candidates in San Jose didn't hold the seat like Janet Nguyen before so the mountain is too hard for them to climb. The Vietnamese in San Jose is in different demographic population than Orange County. There are also a lot of Vietnamese in IT and higher education which can make a different about their jobs and social interests. It's also a good lession for future election in San Jose.
